Do I need to have my boiler serviced every year?
Yes. This is to ensure first and foremost that the boiler is safe to use along with ensuring it is performing to its maximum efficiency. We will also check that all working parts are operating correctly and that flues are discharging products of combustion correctly. Having your boiler regularly serviced will prevent breakdowns occurring and inconvenient malfunctions.
Do I need to have my gas fire serviced every year?
Yes. This is to ensure first and foremost that the gas fire is safe to use along with ensuring it is performing to its maximum efficiency. We will also check that all working parts are operating correctly and that chimneys are discharging products of combustion correctly.
I can smell gas what should I do?

Do NOT operate any electrical switches
Do NOT smoke or strike matches
Do put out naked flames
Do open doors and windows
Keep people away from the area affected
Turn off the meter at the control valve
What is the difference between combination boilers and the traditional conventional type?
Combination boilers
These boilers can save you space. They eliminate the need to store hot water - so no hot water cylinder is required in an airing cupboard. The boiler is both a high energy efficient water heater and central heating boiler combined. Hot water is delivered through your taps or shower at mains pressure, thus removing the need for a pump.
Traditional conventional boilers
A traditional system works on the principle of stored hot water. A typical conventional system incorporates a boiler and controls, a feed and expansion cistern and a hot water cylinder (Usually located in the airing cupboard) which is fed by a cold water storage cistern located in the loft.
Can my boiler be installed anywhere in the house
Yes, subject to a survey. With modern technology and flexibility of fanned flues most properties offer a minimum of 2 or 3 locations for example loft, garage, cloakroom.
When we carry out a full survey we are happy to advise our customers on the options available to them.
My central heating is coming on when the programmer is set to hot water only?
There area several possible causes for this, however one could be that the divertor valve is faulty.
Should I have a carbon monoxide detector in my house?
As carbon monoxide is a silent killer, we do recommend that you have a detector in your home.
Our policy is to supply a brand new carbon monoxide detector with every new boiler installation as standard.
Do you remove old materials from the property during an installation?
Yes - Aqua-King Ltd have a certificate of registration under the Control of Pollution Act 1989 enabling us to remove and dispose of most old materials.
When a new boiler installation is completed what paperwork will I receive?
Aqua-King Ltd realise the importance of all relevant paperwork being completed, so on all new installations the customer will receive the following:
- Warranty certificate (Applicable to the boiler making it transferable) from Worcester Bosch
- Compliance Certificate from Gas Safe
- Plant a tree certificate from the Woodlands Trust
- Completed commission report via the relevant boiler Benchmark
- Boiler installation and customer user guideline booklets
What insurance policies do you hold?
We have full public liability cover to a minimum of 2 million pounds and full employers liability insurance.
